FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Questions we often get asked about blood biking

Why is BLOOD written backwards on your Blood Bike?

This is so BLOOD reads the correct way when viewed in your vehicle mirror.

Why do you not have blue lights if you are classed as an NHS Vehicle?

Blood bikes are not authorised to use blue lights, we can make good progress by filtering through traffic.

Can you break the speed limit or go over red lights?

No, we have to obey all traffic laws the same as everyone else. We usually can park in ambulance only areas at hospitals and medical centres.

Why the name change?

We decided that Trent Blood Bikes better reflects the area we cover better, and clarifies we are independent of other groups.
